The Joys of Plain Nonfat Yogurt!

Plain yogurt is a wonderful canvas. It goes well with so many things, having a distinct, but creamy tanginess to it. Today I made mango lassi. I didn't get a picture because I slurped it down too fast. There are different recipes floating around all over the internet, but it basically consists of plain yogurt, milk, mango, and some sugar or honey. You can add a little salt or cardamom if you like, or ginger. I have no cardamom (alas!) but I loved the ginger in it. I love ginger in something sweet. Sometimes I like my desserts to have a little kick. I like to add ginger to lemon cake. In fact...I think my ginger lemon cake also has yogurt in it haha. Good times! Anway, I also discovered today that I like plain yogurt on triscuits. I don't much care for plain yogurt or plain triscuits, but together....Mhm.

Sammy's

I finally went to Sammy's. I do so love going to a burger place that is totally unique--and not ordering a burger. I'm just not a burger fan, but I got myself a nice grilled chicken sandwich, with grilled onion and grilled pineapple on it, and guacamole! Yep. It was happy. My only complaint was that the bun is just a quotidian bun (that's the word I learned today), so next time I will definitely ask them to toast it, to mask it's enriched white bread-ness, but otherwise, I was very pleased. I like the artwork. Next time I will for sure get the sweet potato fries. I've got a hankering for some of those.

Hearing Science

I hope Wolters Kluwer and Lippincott Williams and Wilkins don't mind my sharing this priceless drawing with you. I can't say that I actually understood the part of the Central Auditory Nervous System that they were trying to explain to me through this illustration, but I sure got a kick out of it when I needed one. I love the face on that one excited nerve!

Over and Out!

Though not actually time for celebration just yet, because I still have five more finals, I can say with excitement and a huge sense or relief that my cadaver lab studies are over and I am out of there!

BC Chicken

Oh my friends, many of you know that BC Chicken is one of my very favorite restaurants, and how lucky I have been to have one in my home town. Well, my friend Yujin and I were downtown for Conference and starving, so we went down to the corner of 4th South and State, where there are three great restaurants: BC Chicken, Himalyan Kitchen, and Star of India. All wonderful, but when you're in a hurry, BC Chicken is the best fast food around, and the best Greek food I've had around. We both ordered this platter with the chicken and beef kabobs, in addition to a gorgeous pile of gyro meat on a bed of my favorite rice and lovely salad--this dressing is the only thing that makes iceberg lettuce a delight. Of course there was also tzatziki and pita bread. Man. So good. So you're wondering, why I'm telling you about BC Chicken when it's been an old favorite....but the Salt Lake location is, I believe, even better than the one in Kaysville! Oh man. I left my leftoevers in K-town. I wish I had them right now...mmm.

New News!!! (Finally!)

I don't know how to say this without sounding cheesy, but one of my dreams came true today. I've wanted to be an Opera singer since 7th grade, and today I was accepted into the chorus of Suor Angelica (which is funny because I auditioned for Merry Wives of Windsor and The Tales of Hoffman) by Puccini (my favorite!). :D :D :D So that's a good place to start!

One of my roommates and I celebrated by going to Maestro, our favorite gelato place in provo. I had pink grapefruit and hazelnut(one of my favorite comfort foods).
